Superloop launches CyberEdge to help boost cybersecurity in K12 schools
COMPANY NEWS: Superloop has launched a new cybersecurity platform called CyberEdge, giving K12 schools in Australia the tools to optimize, secure and manage their network.
CyberEdge is a comprehensive security platform that specializes in not only protecting a school’s network, staff, and students, but also the school’s reputation. It has been developed with a strong focus on student well-being and ensuring that schools can identify at-risk students so that staff can quickly offer life-saving care and support.
“CyberEdge is designed to give students and teachers the power and freedom to engage in new ways of learning without worrying about access, performance or security,” said Dean Tognella, senior executive of the Superloop group.
Superloop has been a provider of cybersecurity and cybersecurity solutions for schools for over a decade and today protects more than 300,000 students across the country.
“The new features and functionality we’ve incorporated into CyberEdge continue our investment in our cyber solutions, designed to improve student well-being and protect school networks and data from external threats,” continued Dean.
“CyberEdge ensures that students can access online materials securely, while the school can identify concerning student behavior through web search and activity, keeping everyone safe.
“We have partnered with educational institutions in our research and development and have refined our solution, as well as the level of support we can provide to IT teams,” adds Dean.
“We believe that the best cybersecurity solution must be supported by education that helps keep everyone safe at school. As part of the launch of CyberEdge, we are introducing Snap, our goodbot. Snap and friends were designed to help educate students so they can avoid badbots — those cybersecurity threats to education that include malware, phishing, identity theft, and spam — and make security easy and fun,” explains Dean.
Additional features and functionality include:
- Better control and secure access to learning materials on a single platform
- Financial freedom with no hidden fees and flexible payment options
- Timely local support
- Local data storage
- High availability with redundancy in the event of a primary node failure
- Advanced firewall technology to protect against existing and emerging cyber threats
- Intrusion prevention system to scan, block and report threats and malicious content
- Advanced routing features for better control and customization around traffic policy configuration
- Web security with tools to protect your network and users with high-level content filtering, phishing detection, and URL categorization
- A new dimension of intelligence and support for student well-being with ClearView, giving school leaders an extra level of insight into student care.
CyberEdge is the next evolution in safer digital learning environments for K12 schools to protect everyone online and identify and avoid cyber threats,” concludes Dean.
Superloop’s goal is to enable a better internet for Australian homes and businesses, by enabling challenger retail brands (including the Superloop and Exetel brands) to capture a greater share of the market, leveraging the platform -Infrastructure-on-Demand form of Superloop. Superloop operates in three market segments: consumer, business and wholesale. All leverage Superloop’s investments in physical infrastructure assets that include fiber, submarine cables and fixed wireless, as well as Superloop’s software platforms. Approximately 175,000 customers rely on Superloop and Exetel for their connectivity needs every day.
