Mimecast opens an office in Singapore to continue its expansion in the APAC region | Your money

SINGAPORE, April 03, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Email security and cyber resilience company Mimecast Limited (NASDAQ: MIME), today announced that it is continuing its expansion into the APAC region by establishing an office in Singapore as a regional hub to focus on South-East Asia. The company has appointed Stanley Hsu as regional vice president, to help improve the cybersecurity posture of organizations and supply chains, in this expansion into the APAC region. For Mimecast, Southeast Asia is a targeted strategic growth market. Organizations in this region are experiencing rapid digital transformation, and as cybercrime becomes a growing concern for governments and businesses, cybersecurity must be a central part of their transformation journey.

In his new role, Hsu will report directly to Nick Lennon, VP APAC, Mimecast, and be responsible for building teams to help drive product revenue, increase adoption of Mimecast’s cloud-based solutions and improve customer success. Mimecast is in a strong position to serve businesses in APAC, with its global email security and resilience solutions. The company’s experience in supporting tens of thousands of organizations worldwide, including more than 20,000 customers who need resiliency solutions for Microsoft 365 and other messaging solutions, makes it a provider of choice for businesses in the region.

Mimecast’s annual survey of global IT and cybersecurity professionals for ‘The State of Email Security Report’ found that 84% of businesses in Singapore are receiving an increased number of email threats — the largest increase compared to the 12 countries included in the 2022 findings.

“Stanley Hsu joins us at a time when organizations are realizing the importance of cybersecurity and integrating it into their boardroom discussions. With his deep industry and regional knowledge, we believe he is in a strong position to guide customers to optimize their security infrastructure, help reduce risk and increase compliance,” said Lennon.

Hsu has spent over 25 years in the cybersecurity industry, serving in sales and leadership positions at organizations such as EMC Software Group, McAfee, Darktrace, and Illumio, to name a few.

In the past, companies only focused on protecting their critical assets and data. However, the hybrid working model – introduced and maintained since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic – has contributed to an increase in the number of connected devices and teleworkers. This has led to a larger attack surface and a greater need to educate organizations and end users on the importance of increased vigilance. As security managers strive to mitigate risk and replace legacy solutions with robust cloud-centric security architectures, Mimecast is a valuable partner in helping them solve the number one threat vector: email.

“As employees continue to communicate in innovative ways as they adapt to the future of work, security risks are growing in messaging and collaboration tools. The State of Security Report of emails revealed that respondents in Singapore were the most concerned about employees making serious security mistakes using personal emails (88%) and collaboration tools (81%). strongly positioned to support regional efforts to strengthen organizational defenses, build resilience and create a safe digital environment for success,” said Stanley Hsu, Regional Vice President, SEA, Mimecast. part of the Mimecast team and look forward to accelerating growth and expanding our business in a disruptive market.”

Over the next few years, Mimecast will continue its APAC regional expansion. The demand for cybersecurity solutions is expected to come from industry sectors that are experiencing rapid digital adoption.

Mimecast aims to rapidly grow its distribution partner ecosystem across SEA, through regional distribution. The company will work closely to align with regional value-added resellers, system integrators, and managed service providers to help improve the cyber resilience posture of end-user organizations.
