Government ends physical check and introduces EVS for new recruits

Srinagar, May 21: To make the employment verification process faster and transparent, the administration of Jammu and Kashmir has abolished physical verification and launched a website to conduct background check and verification of newly appointed employees.

A web application “Employee Verification System” (EVS) has been developed by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir to undertake the process of employee personality and background verification to make the system transparent and minimize delays procedures that hinder the efficiency and rapid processing of the verification.

The portal was developed and made operational through a web-based online system.

“Various training sessions on the web application were given to the appointing authorities. In addition, a number of training sessions have already been provided to all involved on the vigilance verification process, which is basically similar to the employee verification system,” reads an official order.

Accordingly, in continuation of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Service (Personality and Background Check) Instructions 1997, notified under Government Decree No. 1918-GAD of 1997 of 09.12.1997, read with the Government Decree No. 597-GAD of 1999 of 26.05.1999, Government Ordinance No. 681-GAD of 2000 of 14.06.2000, Government Ordinance No. 1328-GAD of 2016 of 07.12.2016, and Government Ordinance No. 528-2K (GAD) of 2021 dated 21.06.2021 as amended from time to time, all affected persons are hereby reminded that:

“Personnel Checklists (PVR) of all applicants should be submitted only through the online mode to the Criminal Investigation Department Headquarters for verification. Manual submission of Personnel Checklists (PVR) should not be be accepted after 01.06.2022 The department (username and password) are shared on the email addresses provided by the appointing authorities on the EVS.”

In addition, all the Administrative Secretaries have been asked to apply the instructions to the letter and the spirit, and the verification of the CID cannot in any case be delayed beyond one month as stipulated in the instructions transmitted from time to time.
