Bergen County, New Jersey man accused of stabbing his girlfriend to death


TOWNSHIP OF WASHINGTON (Bergen) – A man is accused of stabbing his girlfriend to death in the township residence they shared, before turning the knife on himself.

Just after midnight on Sunday, the Washington Township Police Department received a 911 call reporting an incident at 41 Lexington Court.

Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said responding officers found Patrick Camilli, who will be 57 on Monday, on the floor above Mary E. Huber, 51.

Huber had suffered multiple stab wounds and bruises and was pronounced dead at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood.

Camilli was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack for treatment for self-inflicted stab wounds, Musella said.

He was charged with first degree murder, unlawful possession of a third degree weapon for an illegal purpose, and illegal possession of a fourth degree weapon.

Camilli remained in stable condition in police custody, awaiting his first court appearance.

The prosecutor’s office confirmed that Camilli and Huber were in a relationship.

No potential motive was disclosed on Sunday.
